Sjögren’s syndrome continues to be an academically fascinating issue blending the fields of pain, immunity and much of the psychological spectra.  However SS is far more than this. SS continues to prove resistant to crack, to understand and certainly to live with.

Venus Williams who sadly has SS, and it impinged acutely on her life, has raised the profile and in USA has become the Ambassador as the Honorary Chairperson of the Carroll Petrie Foundation Sjögren’s Awareness Ambassador Program. However, it is a reflection of the year as it has been a very busy year for me.  Since Sarah resigned as Secretary/ Treasurer, in December 2012, we are still seeking volunteers for physical support in terms of looking after the membership, If one or two of you could offer administrative  support,   it would be of great help to the Society.  It has been a very busy year and now slightly more so as Sarah has begun the process of stepping aside, as announced at the Annual Conference on the 1st December, Sarah has decided to stepdown from the role of  Secretary/Treasurer.
