Sjogrens Syndrome New Zealand

About Us

The Sjögren's Syndrome Society of New Zealand

Patron and Founder: Lady Felicity Tompkins

We are an organisation formed to give support and information to people suffering from Sjögren's Syndrome.

The condition causes many different symptoms, which challenge those with Sjögren's Syndrome in many ways in their daily living. There is no cure for Sjögren's Syndrome, and treatment relies on medication to attempt to suppress the auto-immune process, as well as medication and remedies (and occasionally surgery) to alleviate symptoms of dryness.

We are a friendly society and aim to help those living with Sjögren's to find and share solutions to their problems and provide opportunities to meet and talk with others who have this condition.

We hold a yearly conference on Sjögren's Syndrome, with helpful input from guest speakers from relevant medical specialties.

Our operating costs are met from donations.
